In Missouri, six Housing and Environmental Design specialists provide direct Healthy Homes programming to over 3000 Missouri homeowners, schools, daycare providers, landlords, and civic organizations each year. Many of these programs are delivered in workshops but we also produce radio and TV public service announcements on various Healthy Homes issues. It is estimated that our indirect contacts through radio and TV are reaching Missouri audiences in excess of 20,000 residents. Through a popular website, MissouriFamilies.org, we maintain current web articles and helpful advice on all Healthy Homes issues. Of special concern in Missouri are high rates of lead and radon exposure in children in various regions. We specifically address these issues through programming in K-12 schools and daycares.
